What to do if you have a clogged drain line

A clogged AC drain line is a fairly common cause of system malfunction and/or failure. If not fixed, it can cause water damage in your home costing you a lot for money to fix.

Here are a few signs that you have a clogged AC drain line:

  • Musty, moldy smell near your indoor unit or in air from the registers/vents

  • Standing water near the indoor unit

  • Water damage in areas near the indoor unit

  • AC system is not cooling your home

  • AC system shuts down or doesn’t turn on

If you experience any of the above situations, it’s probably time to contact Ranger Air and Heat. It’s often an easy issue to fix for a qualified HVAC service technician.

While it’s true that regular AC maintenance can help extend the life expectancy of your AC unit there are times when it’s just best to call a certified HVAC technician.

Some signs that it’s time to make the call might include:

  • System is not cooling adequately or not running at all

  • System is constantly running for long periods of time

  • System turns on and off frequently

  • Copper refrigerant tubing or outdoor coil showing signs of icing up or freezing

If you are experiencing any of the above issues, Ranger Air and Heat can further evaluate your cooling system during our air conditioner maintenance visit. Contact us today for an appointment.
